Anything before 39 weeks is now considered preterm. It was 37+ was safe zone. Never 36. 36 and lower has always been considered preterm. If your Dr is telling you 36 is safe, it's time to find a new Dr.

At my hospital anything before 37wks is preterm. They also don't induce until 39wks at the earliest. If there are serious complications such as pre-eclampsia then they have to deliver at whatever the gestation for obvious reasons. When our babies are ready they'll make their big debut. Sorry you're uncomfortable but you've not long to go now. Hang in there. Congrats and good luck :)

Our hospital considers anything earlier than 37 preterm and will stop labour if it starts. Beyond that they will allow it if it happens naturally, but they don't encourage any early attempts until after 39. They won't medically induce until after 41 unless there are complications.

37 weeks used to be considered full term, as i have read in alot of pregnancy websites, but its recently changed to 39 weeks according to my ob. She said that even though most babies born at 37 weeks are healthy there are still some who are born with complications, so now they try do anything they can to keep baby from being born until the 39th week. Unless you have some health issues that requires they induce you before that.

Safe Zone Is NOT 36 Weeks.  That is still considered preterm. 40 weeks is "normal". Your body will tell you when your ready. Don't rush it because you want her to be healthy and ready.
My first was 9 days late, #2 was 5 days late, #3 was 2 says early and I'm almost 34 weeks with #4 and sooooo uncomfortable.

Just try and relax when you get off work. It'll be over before you know it.

The safe zone is 36 that's why they check if you're dialing if you're 4 to 6 they send you straight to the hospital i'm 36weeks and i'm already 3cm and 70 effected meaning this baby could come out any day now since I'll be 4cm hopefully

40 weeks is the average, thats why they pick your due date around then. :) i had my first 2 days before due date. Though evryone is different. It is uncomfortable and you def very ready when the time comes to get your body back. :) good luck.
