Am I ovulating or am I pregnant?

Hi everyone!! I'm new on here, but so excited to start getting involved. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I went off BC at the end of January and my period has been a bit crazy. I got my period Jan. 22nd, no period February, period March 7 and then period April 24th. All lasted about 6 - 7 days. I had been on BC for 10 years and my period was on a 28 day cycle. Now I don't know how to tell if I'm ovulating or what b/c it is so sporatic. Anyway, my husband and I decided to start having sex every other day and hope for something to happen. Last week on Tues. and Wed. I had a creamy white discharge in my underwear. Thursday I had clear discharge along with (hate to be so graphic) a large amount of clear jelly like discharge. Since then I have just been having a clear discharge when I wipe. I know clear discharge is normal, but I'm not used to having so much of it. I can't tell if I'm ovulating b/c my period is all over the place or if I might be pregnant. I have taken 2 PT and both had been negative. Can someone shed some light to me? I'm just confused and really hoping to get pregnant!

Thanks,
Napkin80

The creamy discharge sounds like you ov.  Have you ever charted your BBT?  That is how I found out that I wasn't ov.  You could also try OPK test and start using them really early one since you don't have anything to go on. I remember also reading that you need to wait about 3 months after stopping bcp in order for things to regulate and use OPK tests.
There is a really good book out there, that I read when I started ttc.  Just take it with a grain of salt, since the author is sort of anti-doctor but she offers very valuable information.  Or a web search might help, too!
"Taking Charge of Your Fertility, 10th Anniversary Edition: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health".  You can get if from Amazon.com.  It gave me a sense of empowerment about my own body, sort of an owner's manual.

You may have tested too early, it just depends on when you ov. Every woman's length of time after af shows up to ov can vary greatly but the time after you ov to when af will show up is 12-14 days for most women.  The luteal phase length is pretty much the same for everyone unless there is a problem.  If you chart and your temps stay up past 16-18 days post ov, its a pretty good sign that you are pg.

Hope this helps and that I didn't confuse you!  Good luck!
