8 weeks pregnant and spotting

Hi! I have had an eventful pregnancy already and I'm only 8 weeks pregnant. I started having bleeding/spotting when I first found out I was pregnant. At 6 weeks pregnant I started having red blood followed by brown spotting. The doctor brought me in for an ultrasound and they found a heartbeat and said everything looked good! I am now 8 weeks pregnant and just started spotting brown blood again. It is Saturday so I know they won't be able to get me in for an ultrasound. I am freaking out that there is a problem. Anyone gone through something similar? Thank you for responding!

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you not to be overly concerned by brownish colored spotting.  The darker color indicates old blood that is likely just now being discharged.  If you have bright red bleeding or strong cramping, I would recommend going to the emergency room because of the possibility of miscarriage.  If the spotting remains brownish, I would suggest watchful waiting.
Good luck!

There's really no way to know without getting an ultrasound to check that theres still a heartbeat. You could go to the ER to get checked but if there is something wrong there isn't anything that they can do this early on. If it were me I'd just take it easy, put my feet up and try to relax. If it becomes more than a little spotting then I'd go get checked out. Lots of women will have spotting in early pregnancy, some women even have what looks like a normal period. Try not to worry yourself too much.
