Are Coldcuts and Hot Dogs safe during pregnancy?

It may sound stupid, but i really want to know if I have to cut out all coldcuts and hot dogs from my diet while I'm pregnant?   I did for the pregnancy with my son two years ago, but I was super cautious.   Is it really true that eating these could cause a miscarriage or pre- term delivery or is it really like everything else... if eaten in moderation they are all right?

Hi!
I think the issue is that you need to make sure that the meats have been thoroughly cooked.  You don't have to eat them hot, you can heat and cool them.  Also, moderation is always good.  Same goes for tuna--no more than once per week.
Good luck!

The only thing I would worry about--with the hot dogs anyway--is the salt content.  I craved those constantly when I was pregnant, and I ended up swelling up a lot and getting carpal tunnel as a side effect.  I'm sure if you don't have it 4 days a week like I did, you'll be fine.  ;)
