NICU BABY!

My son isaiah was born may 4th (his daddys bday) through emergency csection i was only 34.3wks and he has been in nicu for 10 days now he is in the learning and growing room he is only needing to learn how to bottle feed and breath at the same time. I keep reminding myself that he may be 10days old but he is only 36wks and should even be born right now.  anyone else have their baby early and have to stay in nicu and how long did they have to stay?

He weighed 4lbs 06oz 17iches but he is 4lbs 13oz now

My sister was around 22 weekswhen she had my nephew he weighed 2 lbs 10oz. They stayed in the NICU for 3 months. Until the day he was suppose to be due. He had trouble breathing and feeding. He had to have a feeding tube then after 2 months he learned how to feed off a bottle. It's a scary seeing them in there but it's also an amazing time because you see them grow, develop and learn and time goes by really fast.

My second lil one stayed in the nicu for 7 days she was born at 34 weeks weighed 5lbs 4 ozs but couldnt breathe on her own and had a tiny hole in her heart. She stayed in the nicu for like 3 days then moved to the learning room the remainder of the stay. She is 7 now and you would never know she went thru all that in the beginning! :-)

my first was a nicu baby. she was born at 32 weeks exactly at 2.13lbs. she stayed in the nicu for 5 weeks. she was a grower as well but she has a hard time gaining weight. she still does. she's 23 months & only 19 lbs. It might seem hard while you're in there but time really will fly. just know it's for the best that your baby is there. he will be home in no time!! Good luck & congrats!!

I wasn't an NICU baby but I had to be treated at birth the same as your son. I was born on due date but weighed 5lbs 3ozs and couldnt suck or breathe at same time. After a week I was fine once I'd mastered the art.lol.Oddly enough my birthday is also the 4th May!!
