Ureteroscopy and influence on PSA test result

Can ureteroscopy influence ( increase ) a PSA result even after 8 to 10 weeks after the procedure ?

Depending on what exactly was performed during the procedure, ureteroscopy and cystoscopy, or any manipulation of the urinary tract can transiently affect PSA levels.  By 8 to 10 weeks though, most of that inflammation should have subsided and your PSA level would not be affected.  If there is doubt, you can repeat PSA in a couple weeks to verify the value.

I would repeat it one more time to verify the value.  At age 54, you should be getting PSA's every year to monitor.  It is not just the absolute value that is important to monitor but the trend and speed at which PSA is changing.

I had an average  PSA around 0,75 from 2001 to 2006, the last exam one week ago showed a result of 1.6, this was the reason of my question as I went through a ureteroscopy by the end of Feb.
I am now 54 years old.
Should I still redo the exam in two weeks time as per your recommendation or the increase can be age related.
Thanks,
