Bone Graft

Hello! I am a female of 25 years, and after dislocating my shoulder several years ago, the pain was getting worse and i was subluxing my shoulder more frequently.. we did an MRI and it was found that i had a ground glass appearing lesion (non aggressive looking on MRI) taking up about 1/3 of my proximal humerus..there is no involvement in the cortex.  I have been given several different options as far as what can be used for my bone graft during the biopsy and curretage..Cadaver bone, graft from my hip, or a product called alpha-BSM (some morphogenic protein material) we are leaning towards using the BSM, but I was wandering what the effects would be since I do want to have children in the future.. could this cause problems with child bearing? I thought this product had growth hormone in it, so just not sure its safe for my situation. Thank you so very much for your time!

The BNP will not affect your child bearing. The molecule only affects the bone progenitor cells in that area, allowing them yo reproduce, and then replace what bone has been altered. It is a good procedure, and I use it for sternal reconstructions.
