Unsure of Tonsilitis

Hi i was wondering if you could help me or give me any advive on tonsilitis. Im not sure on weather to go the doctors or a chemist or do an at home remedy to cure it. Two days ago i started with a sore throat, headache, fever, pain when swallowing and i felt week . Now, two days on most of that has gone except i looked inside my mouth today , pressing down on my tongue with a spoon to look at my tonsils. i was shocked to see what looked like mould! At first i thought it was mucus so i tried scraping it off but it didnt really work. On a second look in a magnifying mirror i saw that it was white with a little darker patch in the middle. Im confused as to how serious it is and what i can do about it, i really dont want surgery so im worried about going to the doctors. Please can you give me any advice at all?

okay thanks ,, it seems to have disappeared now and i didnt take any action apart from thorat losengers and drinking milk.

It is most likely that you have an infection.  The material you are seeing is probably part of this.  You can easily go to a physician office to get the material (pus) cultured and start on an appropriate antibiotic. That is the most reasonable course of action.
