This is almost certainly one of two possibilities. The first possible cause is an infection of the nose, sinuses, gums or teeth. The infection could be bacterial or fungal. The second possible cause is a chronic rhinitis (runny nose) such as allergic or atrophic rhinitis and nasal polyposis. You should see a good ENT physician.
A nasal wash helps remove mucus from the nose and sinuses. Please read our Nasal Wash MedFact at http://www.nationaljewish.org/medfacts/nasal.html for more information about this technique. Share this information with your doctor to see if you would benefit from this daily treatment.
I have rhinitis and about three month ago I started to notice a wierd smell coming from my nose. I doesn't smell like something rotten but rather like super wet , decomposing pine wood or molds or something like that. Antibiotics have not work and is driving me crazy. It is not all the time and it seems to be stronger when I breathe deeper. Has any one has a comparable smell?
sounds like a sinus infection, I am not a doctor, but I think thats is what it could be. Depending where you live, spring blossoms are in bloom and those cause all kinds of things for allergy sufferers, good luck!
