Doctors

I am new to this site.. I went yesterday for my first U/S and they only saw the sac.. I have to go back in a week for another U/S.. The doctors are saying I am 7w 4d and I think I am only 5w. I am afraid the doctors are wrong with the date. They said if they don't see anything next week I have what they call a blight pregnancy.  I am thinking of getting a second opinion? Has anyone else had this happen? Please pray they see something next week. I am having no signs of a miscarriage.

I go back Friday for another U/S if I am right i will only be 6 weeks.. I am praying daily for my Baby. I trust God will do what is best. Thanks for your remarks they mean a lot to me. Yes I do have long cycles. They are about a week. I just hope that I am right. I am going to get a second opinion if I don't like what I hear Friday. I have done a lot of reading if it is a blighted ovum I should miscarry naturally. I don't want a D&C. I just want it to happen naturally. God will take care of me and I know that.. Good luck to both of you..

Unfortunately the earliest scans are usually the most accurate. The Dr's are going by the size of the sac measurements and this is in days and weeks. I sure hope they are wrong and that you see something in a week.

Honestly us women are usually correct. My dates were always off as well because I have longer cycles. If you think you're truly 5 weeks then seeing the sac is normal. Definitely get a second opinion. I'd wait a few more weeks before another sonogram. I'll be 8 weeks tomorrow and I'm getting my first scan on Monday; this gives me confidence that we'll see a little jelly bean with a heartbeat.

If you do not feel comfortable with your doctor get a new one! I recommend reading Your Best Birth. You should start planning for your baby's arrival immediately and that means choosing the right caregiver during your prenatal journey. You don't want Dr. Doomsday at your birth.

So anyway I think seeing the sac at 5 weeks is just great!
