And finally (this time!), if I did catch chancroids, granuloma inguinale and lymphogranuloma venereum in my mouth or throat (if that's possible) can they be transmitted by french kissing?
What about some of the less common STD's such as chancroids, granuloma inguinale and lymphogranuloma venereum. I wasn't tested for these because was told when I got tested 6 years ago if I did have these I'd know about it because I'd have ulcers all over my groin, my groin would be all swollen and I'd be very unwell - I wouln't be able to miss it. Is this correct?
Can I catch these through oral sex with a woman? What symptoms would there be if I did catch these via oral sex with a woman? Would the symptoms be silent or would I know about it?
Finally Doctor, you said it's unlikely I'd be carrying these throat infections for 6 years or so without having symptoms. If I did have these throat infections, what symptoms would you expect to see?
It's just that, occasionally I do get a slight cough, where I'm coughing up clear mucus, sometimes greeny mucus - not very often though. And sometimes - usually at night, I'll get a very tickly or itchly feeling in my throat, and I have to cough hard to get rid of it. I'm hoping these symptoms aren't do with oral gonorrhea or oral chlamydia, but could just be a normal cough/tickly cough that everyone gets from time to time. But, are these symptoms you'd expect to see from six years of these oral infections, or would you expect to see something else?
Also, regarding Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, and Gardnerella Vaginalis, if I did have these infections in my throat, would I have symptoms six years later? Can you actually get these infections in your throat from giving oral sex to women? And could I transmit them by kissing/oral sex?
Apart from the above diseases/bacteria/viruses, is there anything else I should know about which I could catch via giving women oral sex, and transmit via kissing/oral sex?
I've heard of HPV, and the risks of oral / cervical cancer. However I've been told by my doctor not to worry about this as the body gets rid of HPV - even the cancer causing types in around two years or so. Besides, it's been six years and we haven't cheated on each other, so I'm assuming if I did have HPV - even the cancer causing types, I would have gotten rid of it now? Same for if I had passed HPV onto my fiancee - she would have gotten rid of it by now? Is what my doctor told me correct, that I shouldn't worry about HPV?
Also, what about Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, and Gardnerella Vaginalis. Can I catch these from performing oral sex on a women, catch an oral version of these diseases and transmit them via kissing or giving oral sex?
Thanks Doctor. That's it for now - I'm probably worrying too much.
Thanks Doctor....
I've already been to the hospital and gotten them to take a throat swab. Hopefully, like you say, the swab will be negative.
I didn't quite understand before - you said 'they would not go unless treated'. Did you mean that oral gonorrhea and oral chlamydia does not go away on it's own with time - it's always there unless treated with anti-biotics?
At least I know if I did have oral gonorrhea or oral chlamydia, I wouldn't have passed it onto my fiancee via french kissing (she doesn't like oral sex, so I don't do this on her).
So would you say there's no point in my fiancee having a throat swab test then as well? I am her first, she did oral once on me years ago, with a condom on - and I didn't climax anyway. She didn't like giving oral. She has not performed oral on anyone else ever, or on me since.
So, should my fiancee have a throat swab on the chance that I could have given oral chlamydia or oral gonorrhea by kissing, or is it really impossible to transmit oral gonnorhea / chlamidia by kissing? Is my fiancee at risk of catching Oral Gonorrhea or Oral Chlamydia from french kissing?
I didn't ask at the hospital, but I take it the throat swabs the hospital take, I take it they test for Oral Chlamydia and Oral Gonorrhea?
Finally, I was doing some lurking on this forum, and I came across a long thread where some guy mentions a lot of weird naming viruses. I've copied and pasted them here. These are:-
TTV, TTV Like Mini Virus (TLMV), TTV Like Midi Virus (TTMDV), SEN, SEN-V, YONBAN, SANBAN
I've never heard of these before. Just wanted to check that these aren't transmitted by oral sex, or even kissing. Also he mentions:-
Hepatitis G / GBV-C.
Also just wanted to make sure this isn't transmitted by oral sex, or kissing either...
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for your post and welcome to our forum.
It is extremely difficult to contract oral Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea through performing oral sex on a woman. This is much easier when performing oral sex on a man, for obvious anatomical reasons. Therefore I think that it is highly unlikely that you have contracted this. When infected, most people would have a persistent sore throat, but it is true that sometime they can be silent. It seems very unlikely that you would have been carrying these infections for 6 years without having any symptoms.
Also it is practically impossible to transmit them through kissing or through performing oral sex on a woman. They would not go unless treated.
You cannot get throat Trichomona as it is an anaerobic infection and would not survive in the mouth.
In summary, I think that you are worrying unnecessarilly. If in doubt, you can always get a PCR swab of your throat. I am sure that it will be negative.
Best wishes,
Dr José
Does Oral Gonorrhea and Oral Chlamidia, go away after a while on it's own - does the body get rid of it eventually? Same with oral trich - if there is such a thing - not sure if Trich does infect the mouth and/or throat - does a throat swab detect Trich?
Also, it's been two days since I posted - should there be an answer by now?
Also, as well as Oral Chlamydia and Oral Gonnorhea, can Trich me transmitted orally as well? If I have Trich in my mouth or throat, can this be transmitted by kissing? Does Trich actually infect the mouth or throat?
If it does, does it go away after a while?
As well as gonnorhea, chlamydia, trich, anything else I should know about, which can be transmitted to my mouth/throat by oral sex?
Should make clearer - I suppose the main question, as well as my other ones is, if I did (or do) have oral chlamydia, or oral gonorrhea six or so years later, and I french kissed my fiancee, could I transmit oral gonorrhea or oral chlamidia to her?
When I kiss my fiancee, it's more french kissing, rather than deep-throat kissing where we just try to shove our tongues down each other's throats as far as we can... Just want to ensure that there's no risk of transmission of oral chlamydia or oral gonorrhea to my fiancee via the kissing route - french kissing, or I suppose, deep kissing or any kind of kissing....
Also, is oral gonorrhea and oral chlamydia something that clears up in time anyway - something the body would get rid of, on it's own?
