*Sigh*
Obviously the sexual choice you regret continues to take its psychological toll. But that's the only toll. You have no STD. NGU doesn't cause penile pain, and I suspect it has a purely emotional origin. If it continues, I suggest you discuss it with your primary care provide, with emphasis on his or her advice about a possible need for professional counseling.
But this forum isn't a substitute for that kind of care, so there will be no further discussion. Any and all future comments on this thread will be deleted without reply.
Hi sorry to resurrect this thread.
I'm still experiencing mild pain on the tip of my penis. It's now been just about 10 weeks since exposure. I'm worried that this could be NGU ? I've had sex with my partner. She's complaining about mild abdominal pain.
I'm starting to worry about my full STD panel done 5.5 weeks after exposure. Im pretty sure I wasn't tested for NGU.
Thanks for the thanks. I'm glad to have helped. However, there is no need to post the negative results you will receive on future testing, in June or any other time. This thread is closed.
Ok, tested negative for chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhoea, HIV, Hep B, Hep C and Herpes.
Tests results were obtained via oral swabs, urine samples and blood tests.
I'm taking these results as conclusive. My consultant actually said that pregnant women are given the all clear after 4 weeks in regards to HIV testing.
Although I now believe my tests scheduled in June are not necessary, I'm going to get them done anyway. This will conclude this life experience for me.
For anyone following my thread or in a similar scenario, I've learned a lot through this experience ( not a nice one mind you ) HIV, by all accounts seems to be pretty difficult to contract from a one time exposure. If it was readily transmitted the entire population would have it.
I fully intend remaining monogamous for the rest of my days.
For completeness, I will post my results in June.
Thank you Dr Handsfield for your patience and your wisdom.
Good luck to all !
You're asking me to repeat myself. I haven't changed my mind on any of it and I have no further advice beyond what I have said. You can expect any and all future STD testing to be negative, assuming no other exposures.
Sorry to bother you again doctor. I go for another round of tests tomorrow. I will not obtain the results until a week from now. Im feeling nervous an really just want some conclusion to all of this.
Can I really take any confidence from my first round of tests ? They were done 2.5 days after said exposure.
Could the stinging on the tip of my penis be caused by the unprotected fellatio I also received during this episode ? Again I apologise for being skeptical about the rational surrounding this scenario. Obviously when it comes to your own health, worry plays a big part.
It's been just about 5.5 weeks now. I'm starting to get a sore throat. Would I have experienced more / worse symptoms by now if I had an STD ?
Thanks in advance
You're blowing this out of proportion. I don't see why so much testing is necessary. In the meantime, I believe you should immediately resume sex with your regular partner. There is no realistic chance you caught anything, and that's what I would do if I were in your situation.
Thanks for your analysis doctor. I will give an update after I receive the results from my next tests. I also have a repeat test booked for June. Do you believe that my tests next week will give a good indication of my status ? Is sex with my long term partner out of the question ? Protected ?
I saw this before I replied above. Thanks for the clarification.
Welcome to the forum and thanks for your question.
Congratulations on careful attention to safe sex during your commercial exposure. You were well protected and it is very unlikely you caught any STD.
Assuming the condom was in place for all genital contact, and that it didn't break wide open (which you would have noticed), there is no realistic possibility of any STD from that event that could explain your penile discomfort. And you cannot acquire any infection by cunnilingus -- i.e. exposure of your mouth to your partner's genital area -- that could cause penile symptoms. Further, one assumes the clinic found nothing abnormal on examination, and most likely your negative tests include urine tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia, which are quite reliable even as soon as 2 days after exposure.
A single small "blister" would be an unlikely initial manifestation of an oral STD acquired by cunnilingus. Herpes is the only possible explanation, but initial oral herpes generally has many more lesions, severe sore throat, and other symptoms.
Urinary or penile discomfort like yours is a typical manifestation of genitally focused anxiety and is common in men who are anxious about a sexual decision they regret. Irritation from lubricant in the condom also may be playing a part, especially if it contained a spermicide like nonoxynol-9.
So my recommendation is that you follow the clinic's advice about follow-up examination and testing -- mostly for reassurance purposes, since there really was no realistic risk of infection. Let me know the outcome of the follow-up evaluation. But in the meantime, you really shouldn't be worried.

Sorry cut and paste removed text there ! I should clarify: the pain when passing urine is NOT really painful.
I have also developed a faint blister on my lip. Could this be related
