Advice on further STD Testing

Doctor, I posted on june 16th. In today's post i have some updates to my situation and need your advice. I was with my ex girlfriend in may 1st wk, we had protected sex. 2 months before that I had protected sex with a female-CSW in Canada in march 1st wk. June 2nd-  I got tested for (Chlamydia,Hepatitis B,Hepatitis C,Gonorrhea,Herpes-1, Herpes-2,HIV-1 Antibody,HIV 1/O/2 Abs-Qual,Syphilis). All the tests were negative. I went to my GP and he told me that symptoms are not STD and might be due to other viral infection and I got C-diff and candida due to antibiotics.I still had all the other symptoms. Around june 4th wk I went to ENT and he did a test for EBV and Monospot. Both EBV and monspot came back as positive. After july 1st wk my diarrhea went away. I again checked with my GP if I needed further STD testing. He told me all my symptoms were due to Mono and antibotics and I don’t need any further testing. July 24th my ex girlfriend told me that she got tested for STDs and everything was negative. I'm still suffering from sore throat, candida, bodyaches, earache, headaches and swollen lymph’s nodes. Aug 2nd wk my ENT told me that sore throat, earache, headaches bodyaches and swollen lymph’s nodes are caused my mono and i have to wait it out and it will take awhile to get back to normal. My ENT also told me that i don't need any further STD testing. But I’m still worried about the STD’s.  I don’t know status of the CSW in Canada. My protected exposure with CSW was around March 1st week and I got tested for STD’s on June 2nd i.e. 12 weeks and 3 days after the exposure and My EX girlfriend says that she is clean and i got tested for STDs on june 2nd i.e 27 days after exposure with her. These were only 2 encounters that i had before june 2nd. My previous STD test was in dec-2010. All the tests were negative. I had only 2 encounters after the december 2010 test. Is it conclusive that I didn’t get any STDs from the CSW or from my EX? and do I need any further STD testing?

I already told you that I don't think you need testing.  The additional information doesn't change my opinion.

Thanks doctor!!

Couple of things i was unable to mention in my first post. I'm also suffering from painful urination and most of the lymph nodes are swollen in my neck. I also have 3 or 4 nodes swollen on the both of my hands. Its been more than 3 months and i'm still suffering with lot of things. Swollen lymph nodes are worrying me a lot. Do you think i should get tested for HIV or any other STDs?

Welcome back to the forum.  However, I have little to add to Dr. Hook's opinion and advice 2 months ago.  You seem overly concerned about STDs for no good reason, given the nature of your relationships, your symptoms, the test results, your doctors' (both your primary care doc and the otolaryngologist) reassurance you have no STD, and the antibiotics you received.  And there is nothing at all in your symptoms that hint at any STD anyway.

I recommend you do your best to accept the overwhelming evidence against STD, and against any other infection from your CSW encounter last spring, or from your regular partner, and move on with your life.

Regards--  HHH, MD
