ORAL HSV2?

My friend had  3bumps on his penis; he said they didn't hurt but only bothered him a bit.  He began getting them in October/November 2013...and had it about 4 times up until April, 2014.  In April, 2014 he had them a total of 3 or 4 times in one month...all of the times these bumps were in the same area above his foreskin, except ONCE they were in the same area, yet under the foreskin.  I'm not sure if these bumps were herpes or not because he would say they would only come after he would work-out excessively and get really sweaty in his groin area.  When he would take a shower, he would scrub his groin with a loufa and the bumps would "fall off" leaving only the mark remaining where the bumps were.  He did get them swabbed via the doctor and the results came back as negative for both HSV1 and HSV2; however, the "head" of these bumps were gone when swabbed and the doctor had to really squeeze to get something to test.  The doctor did say that it looked more like a yeast infection than herpes.  My friend was glad to know that his results came back as negative.

The sores you mention could be. HSV-1, canker sores, or some other process. Neither I nor anyone else can make a diagnosis over the Internet.  I suggest you have a doctor take a look if you are worried.  EWH

So Dr., you're assuming giving the fact that nothing happening here sounds like herpes that these sores on my mouth are most likely due to prior HSV1 infection? I know nothing is 100% sure but I'm pretty sure the sores aren't able to be swabbed anymore and would like to have some reassurance. Thanks

Sorry for the character limit. I felt that I needed to give the background information to give a better understanding of the situation. I will put this all behind me and move on without testing. Thank you so much for your time. Have a great day!

Welcome to the Forum.  You have not followed our limit of 2000 characters for your question and you have posted pictures although we do not look at pictures becasue they are often misleading.  I considered deleting your question since you did not follow the Forum Guidelines but instead will provide a brief answer.  Follow-ups will be limited.
I will go straight to your questions:

1) What are the chances my friends lesions were/are herpes? The swab came back negative AND he got them every week or so in April; is this too often for HSV lesions?

These do not sound typical of herpes and there is a negative swab test.  The time course does not sound like herpes either.

2)  Does what I have sound like HSV2 ORAL?  I know pictures aren't usually looked at on MedHelp, but I've linked one just in case so you can see. Please take a look.

We do not look at pictures on this site. The only way to know if the lesions on your mouth is to have a PCR or culture taken from a fresh lesion with a swab..

3)  I have a canker sore on the opposite side of my mouth and the gland underneath these "blisters" on my lip is semi-sore and tender.

This is not relevant.

4) Is 18 days past the "usual" time for an infection to occur?

No, it is longer than is typical following an exposure for herpes to appear.

5) My lip has been itching recently in this area; if this is a prodrome, it is true that prodromes only occur during recurring hsv outbreaks, correct?...which would lean toward my lesion being HSV1 and not HSV2, if I'm not mistaken?

Prodromes typically last only a few hours and are then typically followed by the appearance of lesions.  This does not sound like a prodrome.

6) Do you recommend testing or am I over-worrying about this?

I would not get a blood test if I were you.  I would move on without further concern.  EWH

I've given this friend unprotected oral sex 2 times.  One time there were no sores at all and the second time there was one; however, it was barely noticeable and nearly completely healed.  I didn't even notice it there until he showed me afterwards.  Fastforward 18 days and I have these uncomfortable bumps on the left corner of my mouth.  I have had coldsores in the past, but haven't had one for nearly 10 years (I think? I didn't worry so much in the past so I may have had them but didn't really care to focus on it and remember...lol).  These bumps didn't originally hurt, but felt a little uncomfortable.  Honestly, I didn't really notice them until I was eating some sunflower seeds and licked the salt from my lips.  The bumps were white/yellowish and were easily popped...some clear liquid came out.  I originally only had 3 bumps but recently noticed on more.  They are in the same area, but not directly on top of each other or "clustered", I don't think.  If I pop it or scrape it, an hour or two later they look nearly the same as they did before I popped them, just more flat.  Anyways, I'm concerned that I now have oral HSV2, which i know is rare  I have been under stress from graduate school as of lately and the weather in Southern California has been warm lately, and I know that can trigger cold-sores to be present; but I've been just as stressed and it's been just as hot in the past and I haven't had these.  My questions are below:

1) What are the chances my friends lesions were/are herpes? The swab came back negative AND he got them every week or so in April; is this too often for HSV lesions?

2)  Does what I have sound like HSV2 ORAL?  I know pictures aren't usually looked at on MedHelp, but I've linked one just in case so you can see. Please take a look.

6) Do you recommend testing or am I over-worrying about this?

Thank you so much for your time...please help ease my worries.  I know HSV2 oral is extremely rare, but the time periods and my worries are getting the best of me.

Thank you,

The first picture is the sores after popped and scraped
The second picture is a few hours later and are "reformed" in a sense.
