The risk from the exposure you describe is very low if you were the person performing oral sex. If you were receiving it there is a small chance that you might have acquired gonorrhea or NGU but if you had acquired either of these, the azithromycin would have been expected to be curative.
The azithromycin is recommended therapy for NGU and chlamydia but, as I suggested would likely be curative for gonorrhea as well.
The redness could certainly be due to over examination. With the therapy you have taken, even if you had gotten an STD such as NGU, it would have been cured by the treatment.
See above. the only other one worth mentioning is herpes, and if your partner did not have a visible cold sore or genital lesions (depending on who was performing the oral sex) the risk of that is very, very low and testing is not warranted.
Hope this helps. EWH
My advice would be that your partner should be evaluated. On occasion evaluation of one parter can demonstrate infections that are more difficult to dianosed in the partner. EWH
Thanks. The tests came back negative.
I am getting some pain and mild burning again so I have one question. First I need to clarify 2 days after the infection (and the day before the testing) I had unprotected sex with my partner.
Now I am worried that I passed on something to her and it came back to me. How reliable is the testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia after three days?
