confused over test results

Doctor

I had a street walking prostitute perform oral sex on me unprotected.
HIV has been tested and is negative.  I was treated for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorhea as a precautionary measure.

I was tested with Herpeselect at 9.5 weeks and 12 weeks for HSV1 and 2.  Both negative
I am still feeling neuropathy in my feet. Should I rely on the tests?

After having caused friction on my penis 4 weeks ago, a red mark showed on the left side of penis near the head.  This caused a blister, which leaked yellow fluid and scab even with the skin. my primary doctor mentioned that herpes scabs heal over the skin and not even with the skin. is that correct?

I have had burning stomach in weeks 4-6. In addition I have had burning in my scrotum and penis over the last 3 months.  Up to week 6 post exposure it burned when I ejaculated.     I have also had fatigue for a while(over 2 months). Tested negative for EBV and CFS and Hep A,B,C

My question is do I need to test again at 16 weeks as the CDC suggests?
What else could I have that I should have checked out?  thank you!

I did not say get tested at 12 weeks or at any other time.  But all advice about timing of STD/HIV testing is from exposure, not symptoms.

One last followup question.
You mention to get tested at 12 weeks.
Do you mean 12 weeks post exposure or
12 weeks from the onset of symptoms?
I was tested 12 wks post exposure
thanks

First, you can rely on the HSV test results.  Herpes does not cause neuropathy of the feet.  I cannot say what caused the penile lesion; your judgment is as good as mine as to whether friction was the cause.  The test results show that it wasn't herpes.  Your other symptoms do not suggest any other STD.  If the exposure you describe is your only STD risk, you did not need testing for most of the things you mention.  You have been seriously overtested already I see no reason for additional testing for HIV or anything else.  Follow you health care provider's advice, however.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
