I brought up the transsexual possiblity only as that, a possibility. I have no idea if it was likely or not.
You can tested for syphilis and get reliable results about 4 weeks after exposure. As for HIV, you can seek tessting with an HIV antibody test at 8 weeks or a combined HIV p24 antigen/HIV antibody test at 4 weeks. Either testing strategy will provide reliable results. EWH
Doc, I hope you're right that I'm safe. I doubt the "man" rational, though. I saw the makings of a female. I now have headaches. Like a throbbing behind my eyes. And I'm still having tingling sensations in the penis. It's more discomfort, but not quite pain. It just feels like something is attacking me. How long do I need to wait for syphilis and HIV testing based on this encounter? Thank you in advance.

Welcome to our Forum. I'll try to help. You had an unusual sexual experience that, in retrospect you have begun to have doubts about. STDs however are not the problem. Condom protected sex is safe sex and your activities did not put you at risk. Further, increased voiding frequency and dribbling are not typical symptoms of STDs. On the other hand, they are symptoms of anxiety and increased attention to possible genital symptoms. After an exposure that, in retrospect, one wishes they had not had, persons tend to examine themselves and be far more attuned to genital sensations than in periods when they are not concerned. This in turn leads to noticing what turn out to be normal sensations that might have been not noticed or ignored at other times. I suspect this is a contributor to your situation.
I predict that your STD tests will be negative.
As far as whether your partner was hiding something, she may have been. There are a substantial number of very attractive transsexual males in New Orleans. Your partner may not have been female and your vaginal intercourse may not have been vaginal. At this point you will probably not know and, to be honest, in that you are not at risk for infection from this encounter, I woul hope that you will be able to move on from here.
I hope these comments are helpful. EWH
