Think I Have HIV..

Think I Have HIV..

Hi DOCTOR Please Read my whole story im really scared.

4 weeks ago as of today i went out with my friends and got really drunk. There i meet the a person which immediately wanted to do Sexual stuff with me. I ended up taking her home where she engaged in sexual activity with 3 of us (guys) oral and kissing back and forth. I was so drunk i went to the bathroom with her , there she gave me Oral and also had Insertive Anal sex (i was Top) i always use protection but didnt care since i didnt know much about HIV and Std ..BTW it was my frist time doing anal sex. i wasnt in her for more then 4 minutes but went in twice which makes it 8 minutes.   The tricky part was that she wouldnt show me her Female part thats when i freaked out I thought it could have been a Transsexual .. i went to the emergency room 5 hours later they did all kinds of tests and everything was Negative but told me to come back in 3 months. I had some symptoms  like sweating at night and being scared i think thats due to anxiety also have a sore neck particularly on my right side (stiff muscle ) still going on. Im freaking out doctor that i got HiV from Him-Her. What are my chances?? it was the first time with no protection ..im on anxiety pills. 4 days ago i went to the emergency room due to pain in my left testicle , The Doc gave me Doxycycline 100Mg since taking it i have develop chest pain and my depression got much worse.  Im reallly struggling with life at the moment please help.

Welcome to our Forum.  To summarize, your risk is related to the fact that you had two episodes of unprotected anal intercourse with a partner whose gender you are unsure of.  Other parts of your encounter are irrelevant to your risk since there is no meaningful risk of getting HIV from kissing or receipt of oral sex.  You have had some non-specific symptoms such as night sweats and neck soreness but no other symptoms- could this be HIV?

The answer is that testing for HIV is the only way to know if you got infected in this encounter.  It is statistically unlikely that you got HIV.  Most people, even most transsexuals do not have HIV an even if your partner did, since the risk of HIV associated with anal sex is 1 infection per 100 exposures and you ha two exposures, your mathematical risk is no greater than 1 in 50 and probably substantially lower.  If you go and get tested at this time, 4 weeks after your exposure, the test would be expected to detect over 90% of infections and would be strong evidence that you did not get HIV.  For a more definitive answer you should get re-tested at 9 weeks following the exposure.

Please remember, the odds that you were infected are small.  At this time you can do a lot to begin to answer whether you were infected or not.  Go get tested.  EWH

This will be the last answer.  You have posted on the wrong forum and I have tried to accomadate you but the thread cannot go on further at this site.

At 5.5 weeks over 95% of infections will be detectable.  While your test result will not be definitive, it will be strong evidence.

This ends this thread.  EWH

Hey Doc Im back quick question for you. Today i went to my hleathcare provider which is Kaiser Permanante ,my Doctor took some blood work and urine sample again. last week i tested negative for Clymidia and Gonarrha.

Its been 5.5 Weeks from my exposure she ordered me a 1/2 hiv antibody test blood test i dont know what that means??

Do you think 5.5 weeks is enough because she told me its pretty well almost 100%?

Im a bit confused because i read all this stuff online which says  8weeks 3 months 6 months please if you could explain?

Thank you so much.
