vague symptoms after unprotected oral

Hello Docs

12 days ago I received unprotected oral sex from a pretty low grade CSW.
After 6 days I developed an itchy irritable discomfort in my penis.  It seem sto be localized in my urethra about halfway down and to the right.  It is a somewhat vague discomfort, hard to pinpoint .  I think the best way to describe it is to say it feels like I have a hair stuck in my urethra.  It has persisted for a few of days now.  It is not always there, it seems to come and go.  I have had no discharge, no rash or lesions, no burning on urination, indeed no other symptoms at all.
My question is...could this discomfort be a symptom of NGU or gonorrhea or even Herpes or am I just being paranoid and the timing is coincidental.
I am sorry to ask but I just don't know how "obvious" STI symptoms usually are and I am not sure if this warrants a visit to a clinic.
Many thanks for your time and  expertise .

Welcome to the forum.  I'll try to help.

As you were told on the community forum, receiving oral sex is low risk for STDs, but not zero risk. Most urethral infections cause discharge; discomfort like you describe is possible, but not typical as the only symptom.

Given the low risk, it probably would be safe for you to sit tight for a few days and see if the discomfort continues, or if you develop other symptoms like discharge.  But certainly you should be professionally examined if your symptoms persist.  Most likely it's nothing serious, but better safe than sorry!

Best wishes--  HHH, MD

The symptom has almost completely gone for 36 hours now.
Should I just assume I am OK and it was something else?
would symptoms of an STI disappear if I was infected?
Should I still get checked out (I still have no other symptoms whatsoever and it has been 14 days now)

Thankyou again for your advice

This is good to hear.  You can safely assume you are OK.  I wouldn't do anything about it.
