FACTS: Single incident unprotected sex (Nov. 16) and deep kissing with saliva exchange.
SYMPTOMS: BIGGEST CONCERN - Past 8+ Weeks (since week 2) had these symptoms: very red throat in front of tonsils with a couple of white dots. Throat DOES NOT really hurt (very little). No open sores. Right tonsil swollen to size of grape. Back of throat little red. Some swollen lymph nodes in neck area (under jaw & 1 between neck and shoulder). Neck is a little sore under jaw. Coughing up clear/white phlegm.
Had frequent urination for a week after exposure, but went away after about a week. After week 2 had single smallish purple/red pimple on shaft that went away after a couple of days. No leakage or sores. Recently developed a bump on eyeball that went away after 3 days (felt through eyelid).
TREATMENT: Antibiotic shot day after followed by 10 day oral. At 6 weeks, 10 day Augmentin (son had strep - my test came back (-), but Dr. thought it might be that). At week 9, 5 days Zythro. Also gave me nasal spray and antihistamine to stop nasal drip.
TESTS: Negative HIV test at 10 weeks (Home Access) (therefore, not major HIV concern). Had a blood test at 3.5 weeks (2 weeks after stopped first round antibiotics). RPR was non-reactive; Chalmydia, IGG, IGM & IGA were negative.
QUESTIONS:
Viruses don't ordinarily last 8 weeks. Does this sound like an STD?
Did I take the right tests?
What additional tests should I take and when?
If I see another Dr., should I see an ENT or infectious disease Dr.?
Any other advice?
