Welcome to our Forum. the fact that your vaginal sex was condom protected and that your only unprotected sex was receipt of oral sex narrows down the possible STDs. Condom protected sex is safe sex. Oral sex is an inefficient way to transmit STDs but there is transmission of STDs which occur regularly through this route. Of the bacterial STDs only gonorrhea and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) are transmitted through oral sex; chlamydia is not and without an obvious sore or lesion on your partner’s mouth, the chances of syphilis and herpes is likewise tiny. With gonorrhea or NGU you would be expected to develop symptoms of urethritis (penile infection) such as the discharge and occasional discharge you describe. While you cannot be sure without testing, the discharge you describe sounds more like NGU than gonorrhea. In your case, I would go to your local STD clinic or health care provider to be tested at this time. IN addition to tests on urine or a penile swab taken for gonorrhea, please be sure that the tests are performed to look for white blood cells indicative of NGU (this is different than a chlamydia test). Nearly all NGU following oral sex is not due to chlamydia). The good news is that if this is NGU or gonorrhea, it is easily treated
Hope this helps. EWH
No, there is no substantial risk from waiting until Monay for evaluation. EWH
Thank you. I feel much better about it.
I scheduled an appointment to get tested at Planned Parenthood but the soonest they could get me in is the 20th. I kept the appointment but I plan to get in to see my regular physician on Monday.
Is waiting until Monday safe or is there a possibility of long term side effects?
