handjob/risk/symptoms

Dear Dr. Handsfield,
Received a handjob in 8/6/13 at a clean massage parlor with one worker present. She and the place appeared clean.
The room was clean, the table was clean etc.
She first applied oil to my back. I did not want oil. She wiped her hands off on a towel (paper/cloth/wet/dry?) and continued massaging my back areas and then front. I turned over and sucked both her nipples (pink and normal). No kiss, no touching of her genitals. This towel now worries me.
She applied oil to her hands and gave me a hand job to completion. I cleaned off with a fresh paper towel. She left the room to wash her hands. 2 days later I had a cold sore on my lip (had them since 1995, not worried about that). Several more days urge to urinate increased, redness on right side of urethra, no discharge. The redness persists to this day and at times penis feels slight burning. No pain at tip, no discharge, just ever present redness. Not raised, no suppuration nor scabbing. Just stays there!
Went back and talked to the woman who showed me her place, washing machine, clean towels used new for each client etc.
1. What could this be, the redness and all the symptoms I've related here?
I have gained succour from you good people with regards to the no risk nature of handjobs but any and all advice you could impart would be helpful.
Thank you.
H

The timing doesn't necessarily imply an infection. The timing is equally consistent with physical irritation from the event and with my psychological explanation for your symptoms.

Thank you kind sir. Just seems too much bad timing. I will try and be rational about the towel and all the rest of it. Thanks again.

Welcome to the forum.

Your question may be one of those that can be accurately answered from the information in the title, before reading the question itself.  If your only potential exposure is hand-genital contact ("handjob"), then there is no chance of any STD; and any symptoms you have are not due to an STD from that event.

Now I have read the question itself.  That remains my primary response.  This was a zero risk exposure for any and all STDs.  In addition to no risk from the hand-genital stimulation, STDs cannot be transmitted by oral contact with a partner's non-genital skin, including breasts and nipples; and no STDs are ever transmitted by towels.

As for your symptoms, I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong -- that your attention has been drawn to minor variations in the appearance of your penis, and that your anxieties are making you notice sensations and appearances that you otherwise would not notice.  If anything actually is abnormal, I can assure you it isn't due to any infection from the massage you have described.

If you are convinced these sensations and/or the penile redness are abnormal, see a doctor or clinic for professional assessment.  If you do so, I am confident that no STD will be found.  In the meantime, if you have a regular sex partner, I believe it is entirely safe for you to continue your normal sexual practices with that person.

Best wishes--  HHH, MD
