Risk of herpes and other STDs

Hi Dr.Hook,

I did a stupid thing again. Saw an escort today. She appeared clean. I just massaged her, squeezed her breast/nipple and ran my hand over her body(belly, arms, inner thigh). Then immediately I masturbated with my hand. I did not have any other sexual contact, but my thigh was touching her thigh while I was masturbating. My main fear is that I touched my penis and masturbated immediately after touching her inner thigh. I know the risk of HIV is low, but I am very much concerned about genital herpes and may be syphilis. Please help me out.

Thank you very much.

Thanks a lot Dr.Hook. As you mentioned, I don't see CSW at all as I don't want to have sexual intercourse due to fear of STIs. But this time I made a mistake. Anyways thanks again and I will stop worrying.

Welcome back to the Forum.  with all due respect, I have to agree with you- you are not cut out for casual sexual encounters with commercial sex workers.  I mean no offense in my comments but it appears that after you have an encounter with a CSW, you then begin to worry that activities not associated with transmission of STIs might lead to infection.

On the other hand, I applaud your care and precautions.  The activities you describe- casual stroking of your partner including her nipple and thigh, followed by masturbation is safe sex with no appreciable risk for acquisition of any STI.  STIs are not transmitted indirectly, with transfer of infectious organisms from person to person on hands or inanimate objects.   There is no appreciable risk to you for ANY STI from the sorts of activities that you describe.  None at all.  There is no need for concern or for testing.  Please do not worry.  EWH
