Contagious chlamydia

Dear Dr,
I am a 30yr old male who was infected with chlamydia at either 2am or 6am on a Friday morning.
66 hours after that last exposure, I engaged in unprotected sexual intercourse with another woman.
I did not ejaculate inside of her.  Can you please tell me what the probability of her becoming infected is
as well?

As I said, at this time further guessing by me or anyone else is not going to help.  Please let us know what the GUMClinic says.  EWH

Any idea what might be causing this irritation besides self examination would be greatly appreciated

I have no additional advice to offer.  I suggest you go see the doctor who treated you initially and be sure that your chlammydia was diagnosed with a swab or urine test and seek further evaluationfrom him/her.  EWH

I had a swab test too. I guess the blood test was to cover everything else? The burning hasn't stopped, and now, the bottom of the opening of my eurethra is red and slightly puffed up.

None of these symptoms is suggestive of chlamydia. Chlamydial symptoms do not come and go and frequent urination is not a sign of chlamydia although it is a sign of anxiety.

If your chlamydia was diagnosed by blood test then there is no evidence that you have chlmydia.  Blood tests for chlmydia have NO role is diagnosis of infection and would NEVER be positve just 66 hours after infection.  Chlamydia is diagnosed by swabs from the genitals or urine tests.  EWH

Another symptom that I guess I didn't think about before is frequent urination.  Should I get retested? I am stressed out that it either didn't go away entirely or I might have something else as well.  They did a blood test and said I only showed positive for chlamydia. Thanks for your expertise and input Dr Hook.  It is very much appreciated.

I have not really continued to examine myself. I have no discharge, my testicles and abdomen no longer hurt, just still experiencing a sore almost dull burning tip of penis

Typically the symptoms should have ressolved by this time unless you have continuued to examine yourself.  Sometimes repeated/continued self-examination can be irritating. EWH

How long after a 7 day doxicycline treatment will my symptoms be gone? The only symptom I am still experiencing is a sore penis tip.

I'm sorry, there are no data to inform you of the probability of infection in the situation you describe.  Since nearly three days had passed since you were infected, you should assume that you were infectious for your partner.  Most estimates are that the likelyhood that you infected your subsequent partner are in the neighborhood of 30-40% following a single episode of intercourse.  This is too high a probability to take chances with your partner's health.  I would advise you to let that partner know that they have been exposed to chlamydia and to seek preventative therapy.

I hope thatt his comment is helpful to you.  EWH
