Seeking Advice

Dear Dr.'s, Male, 8 days ago, unplanned unprotected intercourse with woman married 15 years now separated.  I've read many threads & see odds are 1:2000 of contracting HSV2 without knowing her status.  This is tough to correlate with other stats of 2-8 life partners yields 20% chance, or 20% being male.  Vigilant monitoring like crazy, 3 days ago noticed slight redness on one 'bump' of the skin under hood/glans of penis.  Using magnification I see the skin is normally bumpy there all the way around.  The night before noticing this had manual stimulation.  Speculating/hoping that this particular bump was aggravated by stimulation & not result of contracting HSV.  Because of where the pink/red is, it is hard to tell if it is a possible blister, the color has faded slightly in 3 days, no others have erupted, it does not look particularly like the pictures on the net, it has not erupted or scabbed, doesn't currently hurt, but hasn't resolved yet either.  Should I be as worried as I am ?  Did I read the probabilities correctly?  Should I adopt celibacy and wait 4 weeks to get an IgG, or other test(s) done, or is there a more immediate option to confirm things?  Thanks so much for this invaluable educational and medical service!

Your sympomts don't sound like herpes.  Anything you have to use a magnifying glass to see is almost certainly not abnormal.  The herpes probabilities you quote are very soft, but probably in the right ballpark for average transmission risks.  As to adopting celibacy, your questions on this forum and the community forum, not to mention your username, suggests you have an inflated view of STD risks in general and perhaps too much anxiety to handle being sexually active. Consider counseling.  But for the short term, you describe nothing that suggests you have herpes or any other STD.

There is a MedHelp rule that sets a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months in the moderated forums.  This is your third since January.  Any additional ones will be deleted without reponse or comment.  I won't have anything more to say on this thread.

Thanks for your response and comments.  My apologies for exceeding the limitation on questions which I was not aware of, but respect.  For clarification for you or other readers everything described was visible with the naked eye, the magnification was just to assist comparison to pictures on the net more clearly.  Regards.
