Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question.

The advice from Dr. Gonzalez-Garcia, who also moderates MedHelp's international HIV/AIDS forum, is always reliable; we have neve disgreed at all in our advice and opinions on MedHelp.  And from what you say, that is the case here.

I would agree that since your exposures were oral and anal, it was pointless to test the urethra or urine for gonorrhea and chlamydia (unless you have had other sexual activity in the past year that might have exposed your urethra).  These organisms do not travel through the body, and infection can only exist (and be tested) at the anatomic site(s) exposed.  That said, since your recent bottom exposure was condom-protected, there was little or any risk and additional tesitng may not be necessary except for reassurance purposes.  But a gonorrhea test of the throat might be considered, given your unprotected oral exposure.  (Chlamydia rarely infects the throat even if exposed, so chlamydia testing probably isn't needed.)

Your various symptoms are not typical for any STD.  The combination of scrotal tingling, abdominal, and lower back pain are typical for genitally focused anxiety -- perhaps reflecting your emotions over a sexual decision you apparently regeret.  In any case, based on the exposure you have described, you could not have acquired any STD involving the urethra, prostate, etc that could explain those symptoms.

You also were at little or no risk for syphilis, HIV, or hepatitis -- but in any case your negative test results are solid evidence you weren't infected with any of these.

Should you visit Freedom Health for additional testing, especially rectal and throat swabs for gonorrhea and a rectal chlamydia test?  On the basis of this particular exposure, I would say it isn't necessary from a medical standpoint.  However, negative test results might reassure you more than distant (online) expert advice from me and Dr. G-G.  So it's really up to you.  If in doubt, I would advise you visit Freedom Health (your local NHS GUM clinic also would be an option), go over the history and past test results with them, and then follow their advice about additional testing.  (You could print out this thread as a framework for discussion with the clinician.)

In the meantime, I urge you not to worry.  It is very unlikely you acquired any STD.  Best wishes--  HHH, MD

Use a little common sense.  Of course "not detected" is the same as "negative".

This thread is over.  Any more anxiety-driven comments that ignore my advice above will result in immediate deletion of the entire thread.  This is not a hand-holding service for people who will not or cannot accept the advice and opinions they have been given.  Any and all concerns should be directed to the doctor or clinic were you have been personally evaluated.
