Eye twitch

Hi All

I have had a twitch in my right eye for a few weeks now.

Does anyone else get this? Any advice of how to stop it?

Hope you are all well.

Hi I get the twitching in the muscle UNDER my eye it drives me insane when it decides to go. Today it did for about an hour. I notice it more when I am tired. Sometimes it is so bad I cant see out of my eye because the muscle effects my vision.

Horrible thing.

Stormy you got TALLER TODAY LOL you couldnt fit into the space provided LOL. xxxx Good bit of information yes I agree with stress my neurologist told me that.

We could do a dance couldn't we with all our twitching, spasms, jerking, balance problems LOL. Any ideas for a name LOL. Well you have to laugh dont you I cant take my body seriously anymore its just plain misbehaving. Bad thing. xxx

Hello Quiche4

You are not alone. I have this same symptom. It usually jumps from one eye to the other. It is always my eyelid and not my eye. My doctor did not really think much about this at all. He seems to attribute everything to EBV and low Vitamin D. I have heard that Potassium could possibly help with this symptom. I hope you find answers soon. Going through this "limbo mess" can be very depressing, especially during the holidays.

In general, the approach to the treatment of blepharospasm varies with its severity.

Mild Eye Twitching
•Will usually go away on its own
•Cut down on stress
•Rest up

Severe Eye Twitching
•Medication
(different depending on situation) usually to relax muscles
•Botox injections
•Surgery only for the severest of cases that hamper vision
Eye Twitch - Preventive Measures

•Stress management - keep stress under control
•Get plenty of sleep to keep eye muscles rested
•When in vision intensive scenarios such as computer work, take frequent breaks to give the eyes a break

Take care, Theresa

Hi Theresa

Sorry I meant my eyelid twitching rather than my eyeball.

Thankfully not as bad as actual eyeball twitch I hope.

Hope you are well

Hi Lorraine,

I experience the same thing. My right eye  twitches too. It will just start out of nowhere. My neuro did not look suprised when I told him about it.

Nystagmus refers to rapid involuntary movements of the eyes that may be:
Side to side (horizontal nystagmus)
Up and down (vertical nystagmus)
Rotary

Any disease of the brain (such as multiple sclerosis or brain tumors) can cause nystagmus if the areas controlling eye movements are damaged.

From what I read standard treatment is Antisezure drugs.

Hope this helps, Theresa
