Still Here-Checking In

Hi All,
I know I've been MIA lately, and I wanted to say hello to everyone and see how you all are doing. I haven't had the time to do much on the computer besides pay bills and check email-sorry! And I haven't been able to read through all the posts to catch up either. But I do hope that everyone is doing well. Sidesteps-I'm so jealous over here-lol.

As for me, I'm trudging along. 7 more weeks in the RN program till preceptorship-YAY! Denial is a wonderful thing. A classmate saw my arm twitching in class and yelled out "WTH is that!" To which I laughed and replied, it's my non-existent neuro illness-lol. I'm having migraines almost daily-well I guess that means it's never actually leaving. I'm probably back in status migrainous but who the heck cares anymore, I don't have time to deal w/that kid dr they gave me. Oh which brings me to another point, I've seen the kid during my clinicals-he has no idea who I am (since I'm in all white-lol). Anyway, I'm surviving on daily Excedrin Migraine +Elavil, occassional Ultram when my eye pain gets too out of control. I go for my repeat OCT in 2 wks-crossing my fingers here that my report from the 1st will finally be read (sigh). All in all, I'm managing my symptoms as best as I can and trying to stay under the radar from my instructors seeing my weirdness in all its glory-lol. I have had 1 teacher ask me repeatedly was I ok, I told her I had a lil headache and was tired-denial oh it's wonderful!

I hope to chat with you all soon, and I promise to not be so much of a stranger. I miss u all. xoxoxo

Thanks to all of you! I am really trying to focus on school, and knowing that you are all here in the background with your support gives me great relief.

Thinking of you all,

Hey!  Good to hear from you and glad to hear that school is going well and almost over...Lucky!

I hear ya on the hiding of the symptoms from instructors.  My tremors have been really bad for the last few months.  I can't hide it from anyone anymore, instructors or other students.  They all pretty much know.  I am just waiting for my next med-surg rotation coming up next week.  We'll see how that goes.  I was able to start an IV on a classmate last week and did okay; tremors didn't restrict me too much.  But under the pressure of the instructor, patient, etc watching me, I'm sure the nervousness with have an additive effect, lol!

Again, really glad to hear from you!  Don't worry about not coming around.  School is a nice distraction for awhile!
Take care and sending hugs!

Hang in there girl! It's awesome you are focusing on school and getting through it!

Truthfully, the *illness* can just take a back seat for now...denial is an awesome thing until the double vision comes back and you can't walk, oh, and that mysterious migraine that is lurking in the background you can't feel. ;)

Silly doctors....
