Working after your approval letter

My husband singed up for SSDI in September2016. He was approved and got his letter in Middle of Janurary. He was out of work sept through November. He returned to work December 1. He is not able to continue work due to his bipolar. He has been receiving his commission. He makes no salary. He is planning on quiting 2-25-2016. He has made over 8500.00 in 2.5 months. They have told him he will start getting his checks April for the month of March. They want to see his pay stubs. Do you think he will still get SSDI??
