So for those that don't believe Jesus yet say they think Jesus was a nice guy, well then that means in reality you really don't think He was a nice guy, but instead you are saying Jesus was a liar IF you don't believe He is the Truth.
So from now on what you should do ( those that don't believe Jesus is the Lord), you should not say He was a nice guy, really. You should say He was a liar, OR believe Him and say He is Truth. No middle ground, one or the other, think about it, it does make sense. It has to be one or the other - Liar or Lord. I say Lord.:)

hey ya know what?? I don't mind comments like you made of my faith by people who say they are not believers - I welcome that dialogue, but for someone who is claiming to be a believer? gee, I think its time you read the bible and check to see what you really believe.
For you to say some folks shove their religion down your throat - I guess that is what Jesus did in your eyes? He did say No one comes unto the Father except thru Him. And also that unless a man is born again he shall not inherit the kingdom of God.. So if you don't believe that, you are just that > an unbeliever.
And btw jd said what he had to say up above - I added to it. I did not stop the conversation. Believers should agree and if unbelievers yes they can disagree with me,,but deary don't expect me to dilute what Jesus's message is.
I didn't post this thread btw AND jd who did happens to be a friend of mine. He might not post much in public but we do talk privately and guess what?? Gee he loves what I have to say. He always encourages me and says I have the zeal of Paul and that my words that I post touch him deeply as he admires how I take a stand for Jesus... hmm, doo diddy doo.
I like posting on my little ole private forum and am slowly getting away from this public stuff as I can deal with the unbelievers here - I expect them to question or get rattled by what I say - that is okay, it brings dialogue and with that we all learn from each other and hopefully those that don't know the bible look to it for answers instead of just pulling a answers out of the thin air as to make themselves feel good in "thinking" what they "think" the bible says instead of really reading it...

No adding New Age or Buddah to scripture though - its all strictly talking about what's in the bible or asking questions for those that don't know the bible.. Debates are fine as long as the person uses scripture to prove their point.

There is a middle ground to everything I can't say Jesus is the lord and savior but that dosn't mean I'm saying he's a liar in fact I don't know what he said. The truth is no one really know what he said any writtening to come fourth that were said to be from Jesus himself where destroyed or can't be translated because how decayed they are (some say the dead sea scrolls are scrolls written by Jesus.
All the scriptures are account from others that were passed down by word of mouth until years later when they were finally combined into a book. They are alway from a stand away view of Jesus. I don't know if Jesus was nice but what I do know is he was brave and he stood before torture and hate to bring his beliefs to others. To show the strength of his beliefs. Its kinda like the adam and eve story people get so worked up in the little bits they forget its a story thats meant to teach morals and things. It doesn't matter who was tempted first any more then it matters who was made first what matters is that people where meant to be with each other that each person with out the other would be missing a part of themselves. That giving in to temptation give way to further temptation.

to me none of that matters to me it doesn't matter if he rose again or what because I see that it was not his death that was the most special thing but all he did in life. His death only emphasizes that.

Like that journal I was reading about the women who killed her dog because it ate her bible. I can't understand that. Let me punish you with death for destorying some paper that could easily be replace but in turn I will take a life that is said by the chirstian faith to have less value. So I spill blood in the name of god because that is what that women did she spilled the blood of an animal to please god.
All I'm saying is we must stand strong like Jesus in what we believe we must not attack on and another and if we do we must come to the understanding that we are human and must try to make ourselves better. Try to live as Jesus with love and faith not with hate and malice

Hey Cloud, ya know whats' wrong with this society? People see things happen and then they take a neutral stand IF they get involved OR they side with the wrong one.
This lady had no business talking down to me like that. Jd happens to have liked the answer I gave very much. He does not feel I ended his conversation. Katrina came in and pointed the finger at me. I am not mad - I am just letting her know that she should make sure she realizes that people should not speak to others the way she does. Or at least not to me as I don't like it, maybe others don't mind, I do.

Yes that is right you can't say he is the Lord because you admit that you have never really read the bible. HIS Words are in there. The Word is true. If you don't want to believe any of the Words of the bible just because the people used to pen the Words are not here in person to testify - well then don't believe what you read about Abraham Lincoln or George Washington or any of our history from the past...well I should say the "real past" as History is being re-written to suit some people..
But one thing that you always say on forum is that you are lost. I tip my hat to you for saying that and you know why? Most people don't know they are lost at such a young age like you. There are adults here that don't realize it. So though you are saying you are lost - you are actually ahead of most people because if someone thinks they are not lost they will never ask for direction(s).
But where I do concern myself about you and I say this in love as you know I like you....you seem to not want to search the scriptures....IF you take a look at some of the bible prophecy in the Biblical Forum, the public one.,, read some of what I wrote and what April posted and realize that it was written 100's of years BEFORE the birth of Jesus - in the HEBREW Scriptures, maybe you will see that it would be impossible for 'man' to have written the bible...and the prophecy is so clear that it is speaking of Jesus. I really wonder if you could/would see that. I think you might be surprised if you check it out..Its good stuff, very interesting...really:)
Jesus stood for what He believed and for that He was mocked, persecuted and people hated Him for no other reason but His message. People that carry His message will experience the same.
In the USA we are fortunate that we do not lose our lives for the Gospel, by dying, but we do lose our lives where people that we have around us throw stones, loved ones leave us, we are mocked, abused and hated sometimes for no reason. That is how we here in the USA lose our life IF we stand for Jesus. But the bible says to rejoice anyhow.
I received another beautiful PM from Jd this afternoon after he read this stuff here. So he was never upset about my post, yet this woman made a comment about it. So silly or foolish and not worth my time anymore to discuss this.
Jesus is the only way- Period. I say that out of love and concern for everyone and one day all will see and they will remember all their so called Christian friends who were around them in this life and how they never gave them the Gospel and all due to their own motives which is "I want this person to like me."
I would rather have the person hate me and see them receive Jesus way before their dying breathe so that they can serve Him whether thru their time, money or talent - or all, so to reach others for Christ. Time is short, it really is. And "he who denies me before men I will deny before the Father." Jesus said that. People are accountable for what they have heard. You all heard it here, anyone reading my posts and the posts of a few others...
But either way, I like all people the same, whether they are Christian or any other religion but again Jesus is the way. I cannot dilute His message...but if someone doesn't believe what I say, that does not mean I can't like them or have them as a friend. But for people to be so intolerant of Christianity, ut uh, that don't work with me...

History books dont tell you everything they lie to fit the tale of the winner or the side your in. Did you know we went to war with Canada shortly but we backed out because there where to many allies. Most history books dont tell of it at least not the ones in school.

Christianity has been very closed minded and has done horrid things to people. Also just about every religion promotes peace. Simple we all hungry for it.
I'm not saying that Christianity in its self is evil or anything but it does promote some violence by giving such closed minded ideas.
It makes too sides and says this is evil and this is good
but the truth and this comes back to the middle ground nothing and no one is pure evil. So many factors live around these thing that how can you say its evil.

For such self-proclaimed exhaltation, it surprised me to find MyOwn's profile "hidden under a basket". There must be great stress there.
I used to wonder about the scripture that admonishes us not to grow weary in doing good, when I was always so tired. I personally now believe that it's an instruction to not wear myself out doing good, and I now realize that stress and weariness (as well as wariness) are signs that my prayer life is not in order.
When I first found this forum it's not the religion I found here that helped me, it was (and I hope will be) the reminder that if I go to God in prayer I will find comfort There. I did and I am and I thank God for those of you who reminded me where to search, as well as those of you who validated my impulse to search in the first place. God is good, so are we when we search our hearts because we find (with a little help from our friends) God there.

Cloud, you are off on a lot of what you say. I cannot get into this anymore here as you will never see what I am saying unless you open the bible for yourself.
Always remember the words I gave you. I am not saying this as a statement that I am not going to talk to you anymore, but I want you to remember "Myown" and what she told you and someday you will say " OMG," but depending on which side of eternity you are on, it will be a " Ah Hah moment" or a " Oh NO moment."

We proclaim, that we have truth come on share the truth with us. We say we have peace come on, share this peace with us and we proclaim we have life come on share that with us.
We proclaim we have true love and have this love. We have Jesus, have Jesus ! We, the Christians (not so called), are here to give you what we have if someone is not willing to receive; it is his choice and we still love him.
We live with this faith(some thing beyond reasoning and knowledge and rationality).

My father has always been hard on me. Whenever I was late from college, or return home late at night. He was, OMG, I mean totally out of temper, this was his love and concern for me, which I had realized and understood in my youth days with him, as I do now.
Yes, and according to you guys of today, my father had no regards or love for me but you believe or not he passed away 20 years back and he is with me all the day and night long, and I will never be able to find that class of love in my life.

I'm glad I know how to pray, 'cause if this was all I was getting for spirituality I would be in a deficit position. It feels like listening to a storm beat on the house... I don't dare go out.
The really pathetic part is I could use some uplifting spiritual input right now, but all this battering ram stuff is not doing it for me. Guess I'll go do more chores and maybe delve into older posts later.
God's Grace
There once was a man named George Thomas, pastor in a small New England town. One Easter Sunday morning he came to the Church carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, Pastor Thomas began to speak....
"I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright.
I stopped the lad and asked, "What do you have there, son?"
"Just some old birds," came the reply.
"What are you going to do with them?" I asked.
"Take 'em home and have fun with 'em," he answered. "I'm gonna tease 'em and pull out their feathers to make 'em fight. I'm gonna have a real good time."
"But you'll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?"
"Oh, I got some cats," said the little boy. "They like birds. I'll take 'em to them."
The pastor was silent for a moment. "How much do you want for those birds, son?"
"Huh?? !!! Why, you don't want them birds, mister.
They're just plain old field birds. They don't sing. They ain't even pretty!"
"How much?" the pastor asked again.
The boy sized up the pastor as if he were crazy and said, "$10?"
The pastor reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in the boy's hand. In a flash, the boy was gone. The pastor picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot. Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the pastor began to tell this story:
One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. "Yes, sir, I just caught a world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn't resist. Got 'em all!"
"What are you going to do with them?" Jesus asked.
Satan replied, "Oh, I'm gonna have fun! I'm gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and curse. I'm gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I'm really gonna have fun!"
"And what will you do when you are done with them?" Jesus asked.
"Oh, I'll kill 'em," Satan glared proudly.
"How much do you want for them?" Jesus asked.
"Oh, you don't want those people. They ain't no good. Why, you'll take them and they'll just hate you. They'll spit on you, curse you and kill you. You don't want those people!!"

Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, "All your blood, tears, and your life."
Jesus said, "DONE!" Then He paid the price.

I thank God everyday for my blessed life. I'm not rich, don't live in a mansion, and don't have the nicest of material things, but, I'm healthy, have , a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table, a family that loves me, and lifelong friends to get me through. I'd say I have a lot to be thankful for.
From that story I feel I can learn something. No battering done.

There is absolutely no way to tell if what you've read in the bible (or any religious text) is true. Hypothetical question here, sure to cause a stink.... What if you found out tomorrow that your religion was 100% inaccurate? Now before anyone goes and starts to thump me, relax and just answer the question.... I am not trying to start a fight.
Why is it that so many people who seem or claim to be so close to Jesus are so very quick to knock everyone else's view? Doesn't seem too Christian to me. I mean, let Jesus decide. You can have a difference of opinion and not be upset about it. It is ok to not view the bigger picture as does everyone else in the room....
