The doctor has recommended my father-in-law to inpatient therapy. He is very hesitant and would rather be home - where the therapist would come to him several times a week.
He is mostly functioning, eating, talking, continent, but his balance and thus walking is a struggle - it's more of a "shuffle" with someone helping for balance. One eye is weakened.
I fear his quality of life and motivation will suffer at an inpatient facility. Prior to the stroke, he was working full-time and active at 63.
