Do they know what is causing the clots? Simple blood tests can be done to determine if he has a clotting disorder. If it is a clotting disorder, a doctor can determine which blood thinner he should take to prevent addition blood clots from forming. Also, what sort of injections are they giving him? It may be a clot busting drug used to dissolve the clots.
I hope this helps.
