Post stroke itchiness

At 46 I suffered a stroke (not TIA) that I would classify as minor in the sense that I was fortunately able to return to work within a couple months. One thing remains that drives me crazy... an itchiness around the tops of my legs around the groin area. For the most part, it doesn't bother me during the day, usually when I wake or get ready for bed. To a lesser degree, my right foot is also itchy to the point where I've scratched it so much that I've worn the skin off. It kind of feels like I've been out on a really cold day and then come in to a warm area.

Anyone with any ideas/suggestions/remedies?

Thanks

Greg

Thanks... do you happen to have Dr. R's email or (not being terribly familiar with this site), how I contact him or her?

Dr. Rajgopal's answer to my post stroke itching question regarding my father who itches all over.  This started about 3 months after his stroke.  I tried to cut n paste his answer to no avail.  But, you might ask him the question.  He recommended a couple of medications and gave a very clear answer to the reason.  auntsissi
