hi,
would like to share my experience so far(2 months surviver)
i( male 36, slight overweight) have survived the same kind of stroke as yours, a mointh back.In the initial 10 days, i did cycling(giger) for both hand and leg exercises along with the regular exercises suggested by the rescue dept in the hospital. was able to balance and walk after that. continued trademill walking for 3 weeks resulting in the balanced perfect walk w/o aid.
for the hand, the common exercises were continued with assistance for 15 days resulting in basic movements of the hand,(left side was affected).
then i went for mentamove an matrix german therapies. i think mentamove hasnt helped much , matrix has helped a bit.i have been exercising 2 times a day.(30-45 min walk for 1.5-2 km on trademill, leg exercises with weights tied to the leg.) and now after abt 8 weeks of stroke, i am able to raise my affected hand and grip objects by concentration.
i think the toe-ankle movement exercisehas helped me improve the wrist and gripping and also helped movement of the elbow.
hope this info helps.
