So you feel depressed because you dont see the meaning in life and feel bored? Sounds like youre looking to find meaning, you know meaning to life is different for different people. It helps I think if you have something youre passionate about, something you want to do or achieve in life.
Maybe also you need some help with this and your depression in general.Have you considered seeing a doctor?Lily
As someone with Bipolar Disorder, who goes through spells of depression regularly, I sort of understand how you feel. The difference between us is that my depression is temporary, while your's seems to have been going on a long time. I suggest trying to talk to people more, preferably outside your religion. Maybe you will get a new perspective on life? It is difficult to meet new people and immediately establish a deep connection with them. Group Therapy helped me a lot, and might work for you. You can talk to people about your problems (and I mean PEOPLE, unlike in individual therapy where you're talking to the same boring person every week) and make new friends at the same time.
Also, try and think about the things you're passionate about. It may be art, or work (or school) or even watching a TV show every week. Try to think of things that will take your mind off your depression - fun things that you actually enjoy. Everyone eats. Maybe make it a habit to try a new recipe everyday or a new restaurant once a week. Or even a new flavour of coffee. These are the small things in life that add up to resurrect the bigger things that have fallen apart. Mindfulness of the things that are happening around you, especially the things that make you happy, if only a little bit, is the key.
Depression is a difficult thing. How are your sleeping and eating habits? Are you getting outside and being in fresh air? How long have you been like this? Do you sleep during the daytime?
The best thing for depression is talking to someone. Find a friend you can trust and meet with them and tell them what is going on in your life. Get out and do things with friends.
If you feel that depression is really controlling your life you should probably see a professional. You can talk to your doctor about this first, or try calling a community mental health center. They usually have really good professionals at prices that are reasonable. It's important to get this under control so depression doesn't control you.
Let me know how things are going.
Take care,
