Are you on any other medications?
Have you had a thyroid ultrasound?
---this can see autoimmune pattern even in absence of antibodies
Did you have a transient silent thyroiditis in jan/feb that was trying to recover.
If there is no clear benefit/reason to be on 50mcg then I would consider coming off it and see what hapens.
Dr. Lupo, thank you for your response and insight.
RE: Your questions
Q 1: Are you on any other medications? A: I am on Evista which I take at noon so as not to interact with Synthroid which I take in the AM.
Q 2: Have you had a thyroid ultrasound? ---this can see autoimmune pattern even in absence of antibodies A: No I have not, but that sounds like a good idea.
Q 3: Did you have a transient silent thyroiditis in jan/feb that was trying to recover. A: No, not that I was aware of.

That seems reasonable to me. I will try it.
[I forgot to mention that there is a family history of hypothyroidism, my sister and brother are hypo-t. My other brother was told he was borderline hypo-t.]

Sorry for jumping onto this thread but I could not start a new one. I have been having weird tingling sensations and weakness for a couple years.
My TSH has ranged from 3.5-7.5 and I recently started .50 Synthroid.
Four weeks into the meds, I feel no difference. Still dizzy (forgot to mention that) and weird sensations/weakness in my leg. It's mostly on my left side but there a bit on my right. Now my side (under my rib cage) has started to feel "odd."
can you tell me if this is normal for hypothyroid individuals?
Thank you so much!
