Thyroid Nodule

Just got back my Pathology report for a FNB. Ultrasound showed a 2.2 x 1.9 x 1.6 cm nodule on the right lobe. Pathology shows innumerable hemosiderin-laden macrophages derived from evacuated cyst fluid associated with cohesive aggregates of follicular epithelial cells with round to slightly oval nuclei with delicate chromatin and micronucleili surronded by amphophilic cytoplasm. There is negligble colloid perhaps because of the prominence of cystic degeneration. Benign follicular nodule with cystic degeneration.  Dr. has suggested repeat ultrasound in 6 months. In the 2 weeks since the biopsy the nodule has become more pronounced and causing discomfort. What would you recommend being done at this point.

Would you recommend having it removed since it seems to be getting larger?

Likely the nodule/cyst is re-accumulating cyst fluid - would see your doctor to repeat an ultrasound to document this.  Sounds like a benign cystic nodule based on the FNA report.
