I have now had not one BUT two parathyroid adenomas successfully removed and am on the road to recovery. I, too, hope that most of my symptoms will be resolved.
Thank you again for your help!
To everyone else reading........this has been a long and VERY frustrating road to diagnosis for me. I knew there was a problem but couldn't get a doctor to REALLY LISTEN. I kept trying and kept going to different doctors. Some people thought I was crazy and I was mocked at times due to all my complaints. Lost quite a few friends as I just didn't want to do anything.
I would like everyone to know that you CAN have a parathyroid adenoma with high calcium and very normal PTH levels. This is what threw my doctors off. IF YOU HAVE HASHIMOTO'S THYROIDITIS, THE PARATHYROID ADENOMA MAY BECOME ENCAPSULATED AND NOT BE ABLE TO RAISE THE PARATHYROID HORMONE LEVEL AS HIGH AS A NON ENCAPSULATED ADENOMA BUT THE CALCIUM WILL STILL BE HIGH AND THAT IS WHAT CAUSES THE SYMPTOMS!
The adenoma will be harder to find because the thyroid is lumpy and the adenoma is just one more lump.
BOTTOM LINE......IF YOU DO NOT FEEL RIGHT, KEEP SEARCHING! I DID AND IT HAS FINALLY PAID OFF!
I am happy to hear that your parathyroid issue will be solved. Hopefully this will resolve many of your symptoms. Thanks for the appreciation.
