Just had a FNA biopsy MD suggesting thyroidectomy

I have history of Hashimoto's about 9 months after I gave birth to my daughter I notice fullest to right side of neck
long story short U/S showed two nodules and the 2nd U/S showed two
FNA biopsy two first showed : The specimen is cellular with some colloid present and many histiocytes. The follicular cells are at places crowded with overlapping nuclei. Rare intranuclear inclusions are seen. Some of the nuclei appear to have nuclear grooves. These findings are suspicous for a papillary carcinoma.
The second specimen showed: There is colloid with clusters of follicular cells, some histiocytes and lymphocytes. Some cells show atypia? reactive changes in an adenomatous nodule.

As a follow-up.  Would send both sets of slides to an expert pathologist as these "suspicious" changes can be seen in Hashimoto's and are often benign.
Unfortunately, we sometimes need surgery to make a definite diagnosis.  If it is mild atypia and not highly suspicious on cytology, then the Afirma test can be helpful if surgery is not otherwise indicated/desired.  If it is highly suspicious, then the Asuragen Thyroid miRInform test can help determine the extent of surgery.

Sounds suspicious, but sometimes having another pathologist take a look can be helpful
