Levothyroxine issues

Dr Lupo,I first would ike to say that I trust your judgement.  I have been monitoring this site and your direction is solid researched medicine.  I need guidance.
Had TT May 2009, everything was fine until I had a terrible chest cold. 12-24-09 Dosed on Dayquil and Nyquil quite often for 5 days then 4 days later fast and forceful heart palps started before bed lasting 5 nights. 3rd morn vertigo,5th night also woke me up at 3 AM.    I had thoght the levo100mcg must be too high so I dosed on a multi-vit 1 hr. after for the last 3 morns. Called endo had bl test. TSH.85, T4-151 both WNL, but T4 was higher than it was in the entire 10 years of sub clin hyper.  Heart palps stopped extreme heat intollerance started for 1 mo.  Called endo to reduce levo to 88mcg. Heat somewhat diminished.
1 mo later Heart arrhythmia started. PC said double systole and should revert back to normal once thyroid regulated, I stopped levo for 4 days and now had RX for .50mcg. Arrhythmia stopped.  Is this a thyroid issue? Advice please.

The TSH level of 0.85 is pretty normal.  Lowering the dose this much may result in under-treatment.   I am not convinced the thyroid was not "regulated" and would consider a cardiology evalution to rule out underlying rhythm disorder.  In some cases of heart rhythm disorders, even normal amounts of thyroid hormone may be aggravating - but the thyroid is not the primary culprit - these patients seem to have less heart issues with lowering the thyroid dose, but they become hypothyroid (which I believe protects the heart temporarily, but does not prove the thyroid was the underlying problem).

Dear Dr.Lupo,   You said exactly what is happening.  I am hypothyroid TSH-12, but slowly being brought down again.  1 tab .50 mcg 5 d and 1 tab .75mcg 2 d.  I have a cardiologist appt.next week.
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, as a layperson , it's a helpless feeling when MDs are rushed for tme or don't leave the patient with a confident answer.  It was my GYN who said I want you to go to a cardiologist, now.
