Safe time to concieve after Total Thyroidectomy

Hi,

I was a patient of graves disease and had a total Thyroidectomy on Dec 23, 2009. After thyroidectomy, I am taking 88mcg of levothyroxine. I got my blood test done after 5 weeks and got my TSH as 6.19. My endocrine increased my dosage to 100mcg (today). I am looking to get pregnant as soon as possible. Can you please suggest me, if I can try to conceive now or do I need to wait for some time. My endocrine suggested to wait for 2 weeks after increasing my dosage.
Please let me know, when is the safe and best time for me to conceive? if 2 weeks from now, is safe to concieve ?

Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Mehak

Agree w/ Endocrinologists suggestion but the dose increase should normalize thyroid levels -- best to wait a few weeks then start trying for pregnancy.  Once pregnant, you will likely need another dose increase - so work closely w/ your doctor.
