The TSH is high, consistent with mild hypothyroidism.  Goal for conception/pregnancy is usually 0.3-2.0.  Would talk to an endocrinologist about a thyroid check.

Dr. Lupo..

Pearl sorry for hijacking your thread.... but i have a question for dr. Lupo..I tried to post a new question but the website wouldnt let me do it... My Tsh levels are 0.22 and is it enough to concieve. What is the best level so that i can conceive...

I was diagonsed with papillary thyroid cancer in Mar 2007 had by surgery on mar 23 and then had radio active treatment in Apr 07. My husband and i trying to have a baby since apr 08 but of no sucess.... my tsh levels from Aug 08 - oct 31 08 was 0.02 and then my endocrinologist lowered my medication to 88mcg (Levoxyl). So according to the books and resources i have read it says that the tsh needs to be suppressed for thyroid cancer patients and depending on the risk (whether low, intermediate or high) the tsh levels should be around 0.3 - 0.5 and i was just wondering as to what levels are the best to concieve for a thyroid cancer patient.

Thanks,
Karen
