Hypothyroid or Parathyroid? Tested for Meniere's as well

My thyroid levels are in the range of normal TSH - 2.762, T4 - 1.28, T3 - 3.4, but my Anti Thyroglobn is 45.1 (should be between 0.0 and 40.0) my TPO Auto Ab - (antibodies) are 2332.0 yes - the 1000's range - should be between 0.0 - 35.0. Is my immune system attacking my Thyroid? It's been 3 weeks since I've been on low doses of Thyroid hormone 5 mcg of Cytomel and 25 mcg of Synthroid, now I'm feeling more ache and odd burning sensation in my neck area - very noticable. I've had an enlarged thyroid with many lumps/goiters for more than 15 years but have not been on hormones before now, should I request to see and endrocrynologist - can high antibodies mean thyroid cancer? Should I have my PTH levels checked, as this could be Parathyroid problem?I just turned 50(premenpausal) and tested high risk for Osteoporosis. Three weeks ago my vitamin D3 levels were tested at 15.1 - shouldn't be lower than 32.0 and closer to 100.0.  Put me on mega doses of Vitamin D.  50,000 IU every 3.5 days for two weeks and then 50,000 IU every 7 days for two more weeks. Have my thyroid issues severely depleted my calcium levels in my bones? My N - telo/Creat Ratio, Ur H is 79 and should not be greater than 38, so this mega dose of vitamin D and taking calcium citrate along with potassium/magnesium may get me going in the right direction.
I saw an EN&T in January to have hearing tests - I've had tinnitus in my left ear for more than 3 years and since Sept. 07, a constant all day horrible vertigo that makes me feel as if I'm tilting tipping dipping lifting and now this ever present head/ear pressure - so scary. His tests showed I have no hearing loss which is usually the case with Meniere's, but that doesn't rule it out as a diagnosis according to the EN&T. The full vestibular assessment test at the U of W I'll have done on March 20th will determine if or if not my inner ear is causing the balance problems. I feel terrible as if near death. I'm grateful for any insight you may offer, Marian

Dr Lupo,
Thanks for your reply.  My calcium level was tested at 9.6 on 2/14. I will request PTH test.  I've been feeling so poorly since last Sept. 3 weeks ago I revisited the cardiologist I saw after my ER scare back in Nov 07.  EKG back then was normal.  Results however for recent echocardiogram on 2/17 was that I have Left Ventricular Hypertrophy.  My blood pressure is very erratic - averages around 128/76.  Yesterday at my doctors appointment to review recent thyroid hormones blood levels my vertigo was so bad I was terrified, my BP shot up to 160/103.  I know this has been a real stress on my system.  Can Primary hyperparathyroidism cause dizzyness and erratic blood pressure?
Thanks,
twintwo

You do have an immune system attack on your thyroid but the TSH is still fairly normal - there may or may not be a benefit to the thyroid treatment, but it's worth a trial.

Would definitely check Calcium and PTH levels.  Primary hyperparathyroidism is one cause of a low 25-OH-Vit D.

These issues are not likely associated with the vertigo.

You have my sympathy. I'll be interested to hear the doctor's answer. A few years ago I had vertigo/dizziness that continued for about 18 months straight, 24/7. They told me it was BPPV. When I told this dx to a nurse at a pre-employment physical she noted my age ( BPPV is commonly a condition of the elderly ) and doubted the diagnosis.  Later it was incidentally discovered that my thyroid was off. TPO antibodies most recently around 1300.
I am sorry about your dizziness, I never got accustomed to it . One day it was just gone.
I assume it had something to do with my inner ear but will never know why for sure. I hope you get a real diagnosis rigth away.
