ears and troat

I really need a answer quick. My ears have been hurting every day for 8 months. I went to NTE dr. and they say they see nothing. My throat in the back has been hurting too. When back yesterday and he took a biyopsee on the left side of my throat. My daughter noticed it looked like a bunch of white olyers,I never noitice cause I thought that was on your tongue. I want to know what he is looking for. My 37 year old cousin is dying from lymphnode in her troat and have spread everywhere, please just give me something as I am new here and a very long way from home.
                                                                                                              Thank you,
                                                                                                               Kathy desormeaux

An MRI of the head/neck is a good next step as the first place of spread would be the lymph nodes in the neck.  If it has not spread, then surgery may be very effective.  If it has, then usually a combination of chemotherapy and radiation.  This is not my area of specialty and you should seek an evaluation at an institute with ENT oncology division to determine the prognosis (regarding the 5 year survival question).   I don't know where your hometown is but would imagine the middle east may not be the easiest place to navigate through these issues if you are a foreigner there.  Good luck.

I got the results and it is cancer in my mouth. I am in middle east and he says to go home. It's back where my back tooth was. I will have a mri in a few days to see if it spread. I have read that the survior rate is 5 years,is this about the time limit? Please answer that for me as soon as soon possible as we have to make alot of arrangements and his job too.
                                                           Thanks,
                                                            KATHY

This does not seem to be a thyroid issue -- would keep working with the ENT who has evaluated you.
