The Tg rise is potentially significant -- assuming it was done at the same lab (which it probably wasn't given the different reference range for anti-"thyroid".....The lymph nodes need monitoring and if there is persistent concern...biopsy. The scalp cysts are not likely related to the thyroid cancer.
gland, i meant lymph gland not node.
For sure is is worrisome but try not to get to worried and just take one day at a time. Ya know Hurry up and wait!!! Get it out and you will know!!! Best of luck!!!

Thank you Dr Mark Lupo for your fast reply.
Yes the thyroglobulin test was done at the same lab.
I have just come back from removing some fatty cysts from my head & the surgeon didn't want to biopsy as he said he was 100% certain they weren't cancerous.
I am in Cyprus so maybe thats why the definition anti-thyroid is different. Actual test results say Anti-thyroid Abs.Tg <30 IU/ml.
Could my enlarged benign lymph gland be due to another infection like a cold or abcess on my head?
What would the next course of treatment be if my thyroglobulin were to rise again in a month? Would anything apart from thyroid tissue cause a rise?
Thanks again Dr Lupo & sorry for the bombardment of questions.
Bobbie
The enlarged lymph nodes are likely "reactive" to an infection or other upper-respiratory inflammation (sinus, allergies, dental problems, etc). The increase in Tg needs to be watched as does the ultrasound appearance of the lymph node(s). A biopsy of the lymph node may be needed if the Tg continues to rise.
