Hi, yes I had read somewhere that it causes goitres. My thought currently is that we are surrounded by the Rapeseed and this is the first year my thyroid has actually reacted by being itchy. I have found relief with a prickly heat spray which seems to have calmed it both externally and internally. I find it interesting that no real analysis on Cause and Effect are being carried out in local communities living with this stuff in their environment. You would think that the Doctors would've more proactive with surveying their patients and ailments and perhaps coming up with some sort of conclusion to the safety of this product. After all it was grown initially for Mustard Fas and then later for the motoring industry.
Interesting. Let me first say that Americans are by and large not familiar with rapeseed or rapeseed oil. We are much more familiar with it's cousin, canola, which was bred (traditional crossbreeding, not GMO) in Canada to exclude the chemicals in rapeseed thought to be toxic.
Both are related to cabbage, which is a known goitrogen (causes inflammation and swelling of the thyroid). If the plant has it, its pollen probably does as well.
