From Babygirl. "I have suffered from this evil affliction since 2007! Just like I have read about another sufferer, my head too feels like a rotten apple! A poisonous form of irritable tiredness that never leaves me 24/7! The medics cannot treat me, because it's untreatable! They simply ignore me and change the subject! Seems like they have got something to hide!"
I'm a 32 year old female and have the same problem. Usually this happens while I am driving or after eating. My entire life I would almost instantly fall asleep after eating or if lying down(whether on the couch or in bed). I finally had a sleep study done, thinking it could be sleep apnea. This was ruled out. The only thing they could do was diagnose me with Idiopathic Hypersomnia. Basically, they have no idea why I am tired all the time so they just lump me in with the others that they are not sure of. They prescribed me Nuvigil. It's not a perfect fix but it does help me function day to day. The only problem with this...it is not FDA approved for Idiopathic Hypersomnia. In fact, there is nothing FDA approved for this. So because of this, insurance will not cover it. It can cost over $600 a month for this. Luckily, Costco sells it for $67 without insurance. You might want to look into this and see if this could be the case for you.
Guys the answer might be genital herpes. Ever since contracting it I've been sleepy af with heavy head and dry eyes too
I have MS, BEDFAST 24 /7 I AM ALWAYS TIRED. I GET 8 TO 10 HRS SLEEP, STILL TIRED, 5 HRS. SLEEP SOMETIMES, STILL TIRED. I TAKE 2 NARCOTIC PAIN PILLS, VALIUM, TRAXADONE CAPOXONE AND OTHERS.
I was told it was due to my having MS.
I also have the same problem. I am almost 17. My head always feels heavy throughout the day (especially the sides). I usually don't have any pain but headaches occur occasionally. I have high powered specs (6.25 and 6.5). I go for regular check ups (twice a year) and change my specs whenever my powers change. I don't have any anxiety or depression issues. I get a lot of sleep (around 7 to 8 hours). I have been having this problem for months now. The general physician said that this problem would eventually disappear as these usually happen due to stress and lack of sleep or bad posture. But this nagging problem just doesn't seem to leave me. My class 10 boards are going on now and I am having difficulties in concentrating and this is affecting me quite a bit. This is really worrying and annoying me.
Would love some quick remedies. Hope that there isn't any tumor.
Please help me with an answer.
Thanks in advance.
I feel the same as MaZx. Did you get it figured out? So I know what to do?
I played games at a stretch and I have been facing this problem since.
So, I think my heavy headed feeling and tiredness are due to heavy use of computer. Now do I have to consult a doctor? or this would pass automatically?

Hey! I am a young guy, 21 years old and i have been having the fimiliar promblems with my health over the last weeks, heavy-headedness, eyes tired, cant sleep properly. So it started about a 2weeks ago, after a night out with friends, had few drinks, had a good time, when suddenly i couldnt sleep the day after, and after, when one day, studying for my history class i felt super tired, and almost fainted. Before this happened, everyday i felt like little bit out of condition. I also train very hard, 4-5 times a week boxing combined with weight training. One day when i was lifting weights i pulled my lower back and still to this day i feel that spot being just weird. Can this be the reason ? Also during the week i felt little bit better day by day, one day i couldnt feel my back pain anymore. Some days after this i had some drinks with me mates and usually after drinking i get no bad hangovers or that sort of stuff, but now, again i feel heavy headed and tired, and my back pain is pack. ALSO before this i was in super good health, and now i feel tired and ****
I feel my head heavy especially the left side of the head. sometimes in order to support it, I have to tilt it to the right.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
There are two or three possibilities for a heavy headed feeling with tired eyes and dizziness. The symptoms could be due to compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. The second possibility is a high BP. Hence get your blood pressure checked. TMJ is another possibility. If you have been out in sun a lot or drink less of fluids then it can also be due to electrolyte imbalance or dehydration. Benign intracranial hypertension also causes dizziness with headache and a spinal tap is confirmatory. It can be a migraine attack too. If all this is ruled out then it can also be a sleep disturbance causing heavy headedness and tired eyes and dizziness could be due to not getting enough of proper sleep.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination and if need be referral to a neurologist or a sleep specialist. Take care!
