Hit head on concrete after fainting...any ideas?

Hello community,

Yesterday, while waking up early and didnt have anything to eat, i was standing in line for some tickets when I fainted. I fell straight back and hit back of my head first. I immediately went to the hospital where they found no bleeding in the back of my head, pupils were fine, temp was fine, blood pressure normal, balance was checked, response to stimulus was good, arm/leg coordination is in tact so no concussion. I feel because I passed out and my friend who was there said I woke up two seconds after hitting my head so I didnt stay passed out due to impact. I woke up totally alert and fine. I stayed at the hospital for 2.5 hours before they released me and said i was fine. I have some slight pressure in the back of head today but it does not hurt or anything.

Is this pressure normal after a fall like that? Should I just wait it out and see how it fairs? Should I go back to the ER to be checked? Any thoughts?

I have never had a head injury in my life, 24yrs old male, 5'11" tall, 212 lbs. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from someone soon.

why didn't they check for these in the ER though? Couldn't they have X-rayed him to find these things out?
I'm asking this because I've had the same experience (cause and effect) today though I'm a 24yo woman.

i fainted two weeks ago and hit my head on the door(or floor- cannot remember), I had a huge (half palm size) black bruise on my forehead, slowly turning into green and then yellow- now it is gone, but I still cannot touch my forehead as it hurts much.
I have had headaches since yhen, which was put down to high  BP by the doctor.

My GP is rubbish and does not do anything. Should I worry about fracture?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You probably had a vasovagal attack due to empty stomach and prolonged standing or it was due to hypoglycemia. Post injury some pressure and soreness is expected. However if you develop nausea, vomiting, excess sleep, severe headache, difficulty in walking and balance, tremors, seizures, vision problems, ringing in ears etc then consult a doctor immediately. These symptoms develop if there is a brain injury or bleed. Otherwise this pressure will go in a few days. Take care!
