Doctornee has provided a much better answer. Especially the advice about ice-packs!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
In all probability your scalp has multiple contusions from the impact. This could just be an external injury. Please watch out for persistent headache, nausea, vomiting, giddiness, unstable gait, increased sleep or any sign of any neurological problem like loss of sensation or drooping eyelid etc. All this will signify an internal injury to brain.
Normally nothing will happen. Apply ice packs to your head for 10-15 minutes, 2-3 times a day to help bring down the swelling. Also since there was a major impact on head, even though you do not have any symptoms, I would be more comfortable if you could get this examined by a doctor.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
That is a "how many angels are on the head of a pin" question.
Probably not. People have been getting bumps on the head for thousands of years before they invented the MRI.
As long as there is no nausea, you will probably be O.K. Nausea signifies brain swelling. If you experience anything really out of the ordinary don't hesitate to go to an ER, but most likely things will be O.K.
Take Ibuprufin (Motrin) , which is a mild anti-inflammatory.
