I'm not sure how important the position is but I would say the way your cervical mucous would be a lot more important. You was some nice healthy sperm friendly CM. It's usually best when it's the egg white consistancy.

my dr. recommned missionary position, that way, the sperm can deposit correctly in vagina. however, it is better to elevate ur buttoks by putting the pillow under, n' relax for atlest 30mts. we been doing missonary for the past 5months, but no luck whtsoever. i also heard doggy style do works.. Good luck for ttc !!! baby Dustttss:)

I too was under the assumption that Missionary was best, and kept trying to do that, but my man is a foot taller than I am so it's difficult to accomplish.  Fairly certain that we did not end up using missionary the night we concieved (in case you're wondering, it was doggie style, sorry if that's TMI).  So in light of what Vantom just said, I would just do either whatever's comfortable or whatever keeps TTC interesting (I was only TTC for 2 months, but I've heard that if it takes longer it can get kinda boring).

Good news here—whatever floats your boat works just fine. Most experts agree that any position that deposits sperm next to the cervix is effective. Some women worry that if they are on top, sperm will leak out immediately. Semen is very thick when it is ejaculated and liquefies with time. This keeps it next to the cervix long enough for the sperm to forge ahead. However, director of Georgetown University's Institute for Reproductive Health, Dr. Victoria Jennings, MD, points out there is a common belief that missionary position is best. "There is not actual evidence for this, but it certainly can't hurt." Different positions do not influence the sex of the baby.

I hope this helps dear :)
